Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Linen Breeze shirt

When I saw this breeze shirt from plus2is5 I knew I had to make it for my husband. During our holiday in Hawaii two years ago we bought a shirt like the breeze shirt and he loves it. So after a year he requested another one. I started looking for a pattern but found it difficult to search. So when I saw the breeze shirt pop up in my instagram I bought the Breeze shirt from Twig + Tale right away and sewed it up for Fathersday.

My husband loves it, it is nice and breezy. I made it in linen fabric that I bought at Textielstad. What makes the pattern to great is the attention to detail. There is contrasting fabric in the hem and the back of the top of the bodice. Also the difference in length of the front and back bodice gives it such a professional look. The pattern also uses french seams, which was a first for me. So also the inside looks perfect.
My husband at first thought it was a big big on him, as he had to get used to the dropped shoulders. Let's see how he feels after wearing it some time. It will be great when we are going to Italy for those summer evenings.

One Thimble 22 blog tour: Piper Pinny dress

My daughter loves twirly dresses and then suddenly during summer we saw this denim dress without any twirl factor and she instantly loves it! Complete mind changer. So when I saw the Piper Pinny in the newest One Thimble 22 *, I knew our girl would just love it. I have a large fabric stash, but besides that I also have a large upcyclying stash. Especially with denim, I just can't let go and feel like I need to save every denim jeans that we have owned in our household. So when I have a denim sewing project I try to use my large pile of old jeans.This pair of jeans comes out of my mother's stash as my stash is in storage due to our upcoming move.
