Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Hacked fairytale dress, twinning with the doll

The fairytale hoodie is one of my favorite patterns from Made by Runi . I love the skirt of the hoodie. Since our girl prefers dresses over vests, I hacked the fairytale hoodie by taking out the zipper and sewing a dress. The first fairytale hoodie  that I made is still one of her favorite coats (too cold now unfortunately). Besides omitting the zipper I also added 3 cm to the bottom of the skirt. Next time I would add even more (probably about 5 cm). The hoodie is not designed to be a dress (lengthwise), but I prefer the dresses I sew to be on the knees so they can wear them for a year of longer. Get the fairtytale hoodie today with 20% discount with the code CHRISTMAS23. In addition I also hacked the front and back of the dress by adding a colour block. The colour blocked sleeves are included in the pattern. I continued the same line form the sleeves to the front and back pieces. Additionally I added another line for the bottom colour block. The first time our d...

A festive outfit for the doll

Besides all the awesome patterns for girls, boys, women and men Made by Runi also has patterns for dolls . Our girls love dolls, especially our second daughter and our youngest love to play with dolls. So sewing an outfit for our dolls was already on my list for a long time and now I finally sewed up an outfit for our doll. The crown headband is the doll version of the Crown headband for adults and kids. I think it is great for birthdays but can also be used for keeping the head warm during winter. Of course our doll also needs to participate in the festivities. The crown can be worn on two sides so can match two different outfits. The crown headband is part of the doll outdoor bundle , which include the crown headband, a cape and a beanie all for 43 cm dolls. To make a whole outfit I used the fairytale bundle to make a dress for our doll. The fairytale bundle includes dolls versions of the following three patterns: the  fairytale hoodie , the fairy ...
