With the fall and winter setting in our girls are in need of cardigans. The Cozy Embrace Cardigan by Made by Runi is just perfect for that and it is pattern of the week, which means you can get it with a discount this week! I had some teddy fabric in my stash and was looking for a pattern that would fit that fabric. Then I saw this cardigan and thought this pattern would be perfect for this fabric. During our sewing weekend my sewing buddy , who buys at a wholesaler sometimes, brought this lovely fox teddy fabric with her. So I bought a meter from her and made this vest with it. I also made a dress from it, but you will have to wait until it makes it to the blog. The teddy fabric for both our girls is so soft and cuddly I just want to touch and stroke it all day long. I did not only sew the Nikita from the 12 (!) new patterns that were released by Jalie Patterns , I also sewed the Michelle tanks and dress (3911)  and Charlotte Cardigans (3900) .  A summer dress and cardigan, perfect for summer. On our way to our sewing weekend in the beginning of this year we made a stop at the Stoffenstraat and I saw the fabric with the elves, or dancers, on it. I knew our eldest would love it! So I bought it and then I had to find a pattern that would fit the fabric. When I saw the Michelle I thought it would be a perfect fit.  After sewing the dress and our daughter put it on, I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting a bit more of a fitted model. Or maybe because I sized up one size in length it came out a bit too big in my opinion. Well she can still wear it next year and she loves it because it is a loooong dress. I do like the model for myself and would size down if I would sew another one for our daughter. I do love the v-shaped neck...

My first project during  our sewing weekend  was the  cross my heart cardigan  by  Max and Meena patterns . During my pattern tests I usually sew for our two older girls. So it was time to sew something for our smallest girl. I saw this pattern already long before but bought it when we were expecting our youngest. I think it looks so cute! And after sewing I can say it is a great pattern too. I like the  little straps that are used for the snaps. They are just brilliant because they do not stretch and therefore the snaps do not have the possibility of tearing the fabric. I didn't think to take any ribbon with me during the sewing weekend. But luckily there was somebody who did! And she just had the perfect match to the fabric, I love that little detail. We are moving towards fall and every now and then we need some fall clothing. What I always wear during fall season are cardigans. It is great to put one over a t-shirt or take it with you when it will get colder at night. I have many different cardigans in different colours, because they need to match your clothing, right?! The Aveiro Cardigan * by Itch to Stitch is therefore a must have in your wardrobe! The Aveiro Cardigan has several options, a bolero, a short cardigan, a regular cardigan and a long cardigan and you can opt for short or long sleeves. So basically all types of cardigans are covered in this awesome pattern. And of course as I am used to with Itch to Stitch patterns, the fit is spot on! This time on how to colour block the Coffee and Tea Cardigan by Annelaine Patterns . Blog tours are a great way to push me to start sewing. For the  back to school blog tour by Bella Sunshine Designs * I used three different patterns to start my fall sewing. Although it is still searing hot here I sewed an outfit that she can wear once she goes back to school and most likely the weather will be back to its usual self (which means rain). I used two free patterns, the Eden Leggings  and the Reagan Raglan t-shirt   (free with the code in the  BSD Facebook group ),  and combined these with the Apple Cardigan by Bella Sunshine Designs . This is a first time for me to create one whole outfit that fits together and it took me a while to find the right combination of fabrics that fit together. I am really happy with the result, but I can imagine that some might find it quite bold (I guess most of my outfits are quite bold to others). Although I like a challenge, I found that challenge a bridge too far. Nevertheless, I did sew the dresses for our girls. It was a first for me to really go all the way by first sewing trial dresses and then sewing the final dresses. During our sewing weekend I sewed the test version of the azure party dress  (2Y-12) by Ainslee Fox and I was really happy with the result (as was our daughter). You can see the result in the post about our sewing weekend . For the final version I used the same pattern pieces. I went shopping at Cares Stoffen for fabric that matched my dress. The blush fabric that you see in the middle of the dress is a part of my wedding dress. My dress had to be shortened so some fabric was left over and I could take it with me. Cares Stoffen had all the fabric that I wanted, cotton for the top and bot...
