Finally a stella jumpsuit

The Stella Jumpsuit from Sofilantjes * has been on my sewing list for a long time. I wanted to sew it since our youngest was born, 2 years ago. This summer I just had to sew it since she will outgrow the sizes soon and I wanted to make a summer Stella with short sleeves. You must recognise the fabric from these dresses . Yes, I bought it on the bold at Nooteboom and I love it. It a very soft fabric and flows so nice. There is still some left. Now all the girls at home have a garment in this fabric. Our husband is the only one missing out, but he doesn't like twinning with us unfortunately. Well too bad for him. The Stella Jumpsuit starts at size 50 (NB) and goes up to size 92 (2Y). I made a 74 chest size with a 86 length. The Stella is the perfect newborn gift but it also works well for toddlers. Those jumpsuits look so cute on them when they walk around. Double gauze jumpsuit from Ottobre

When I first saw the jumpsuit (Sloppy) in the Ottobre 3/2018 I wanted to sew it up. So the Ottobre was on my sewing table for a long time to sew it up. I wanted to sew it up before summer. But it didn't happen last year. Since sizing goes up to 92 I had to sew it up this year or our girl wouldn't fit it anymore. And it was a great way to use the double gauze (or tetra fabric) that I already have for some years. I used a longer length because of the cloth diapers we use and I feel the crotch is always the area where a jumpsuit becomes too small too quickly. The jumpsuit has a sloppy feel (hence the name I assume), so it has a dropped crotch. The top part of the jumpsuit is lined. I made a knot at the end of the shoulder bands and will leave them there during a diaper change. There is enough room to get it on and off without having to take the knot out. I hemmed the legs, but it is still a bit too long, so I fold the legs until she grows out of it. Don't babies loo...

Another wendybird dress

The third wendybird dress * on this blog, that means I love that dress! I already sewed two dresses for the eldest two (although the eldest has outgrown hers and our middle one is now wearing the one of the eldest). Now it was time for a dress for our youngest. Meet my newest wendybird dress from Stitch upon a time . The pattern has many different options, you can either pleat or gather the panel skirt part (or leave out the extra skirt panel, although I love that element of the dress). Two years ago I used both the pleats and gathering for the dresses. The last time I also made the regular sleeves. This time I used the bubble sleeves and I love the construction, it is so nicely finished. In addition to the regular neckband I used there is also the option of a boatneck. Advena bodysuit by Sofilantjes

I love sewing for babies, even though our baby is not that small anymore. Those small pieces of clothing and bodysuits or onesies are always so cute when you are done. And bodysuits are always useful and Sofilantjes * just released a new one, the Advena bodysuit (ook in het Nederlands ). Bodysuits and onesies are very grateful projects because they are worn every single day. The Advena bodysuit is a great basic for your collection. It has the regular neckline that I sewed but there is also an asymmetrical neckline option with just one shoulder having a fold over binding. I think that is also a cute detail and definitely an unique detail. Our girl wears cloth diapers and this bodysuit fits very well over cloth diapers as well as regular diapers. Also the length of the bodysuit works well with cloth diapers. You use the trunk length to decide on the length of the bodysuit you sew. Muse playsuit re-release

I love playsuits, don't you? They look so cute on babies. But then babies grow up, so with our youngest still a bit baby like I need to sew up all the playsuits because once they get potty trained they are not that useful anymore. The Muse Playsuit by Stitch Upon a Time * is a great playsuit that works well with cloth diapers! I love that the playsuit is loose enough so you can put some extra layer underneath it. Arcus skirts with scraps!

Another colour blocked pattern by Sofilantjes *, the Arcus skirt ! I love the skirt because as I said it has a lot of colour block options and it is great for scraps. I save all those special small pieces of fabric. I find it a waste to throw them away and with this pattern you can still use them. This skirt is perfect for a quick project, I sewed the second skirt, yesterday evening within 2 hours, from taping, to cutting to sewing. Isn't that great for a nice twirly skirt? Additionally, the size range is awesome, our little one who is wearing a straight 9-12M (74-80) fits it and it goes all the way up to 14Y (starting at 3M). I have a love-hate relationship with sewing with stripes. I love sewing with stripes, but then you have to line the stripes perfectly and I am not always in the mood for that. Advena for babies and girls by Sofilantjes

Another new pattern by Sofilantjes *, and it is a great new one! I love colour blocking and the Advena top,tunic and dress has a lovely colour block on the sides. I sewed a dress for our middle daughter and a top for our youngest. Then there is also the option of a tunic (for the girls' advena size 80-164). First I'll show you the top I made for our youngest. It is a great unisex pattern, so suitable for everybody! The pattern has 3 different necklines, a round neckline, an enveloppe neckline and an asymmetrical neckline which combines the round neckline with the enveloppe neckline. On the top I made the asymmetrical neckline. It is a bit more challenging neckline. But I love the asymmetrical neckline. At least you don't have the problem that both sides need to look exactly the same! I made the round neckline on the dress for our eldest. Then on to the dress for our middle daughter. Cross my heart cardigan

My first project during our sewing weekend was the cross my heart cardigan by Max and Meena patterns . During my pattern tests I usually sew for our two older girls. So it was time to sew something for our smallest girl. I saw this pattern already long before but bought it when we were expecting our youngest. I think it looks so cute! And after sewing I can say it is a great pattern too. I like the little straps that are used for the snaps. They are just brilliant because they do not stretch and therefore the snaps do not have the possibility of tearing the fabric. I didn't think to take any ribbon with me during the sewing weekend. But luckily there was somebody who did! And she just had the perfect match to the fabric, I love that little detail.
