A twisted outfit: Romy twist tee and skirt

Twisted and asymmetrical clothing are my weak spot, so I fell in love the moment I saw this outfit, the Adult Romy Twist Tee and Skirt from Petite Stitchery*. They look complicated and sophisticated, but they are actually very quick sews. The twist top has three different lengths, I made the regular top length, also the modest top length and mini top length are included in the pattern. I don't really see myself wearing anything shorter than the regular top length, but I must admit, everybody in the tester group looked great in the shorter top lengths. Besides the crew neck option, also a v-neck option is included and 4 different sleeve length. So you can make many different options with the twist tee. That skirt! Wow, it is just two pattern pieces, one for the skirt and one for the waistband, you need to fold and flip and there you are, you have your new twist skirt. Phoenix tops

Looking for summer tops for your girls? Look no further, the newest pattern from Petite Stitchery *, the Kids Phoenix Crop, Top and Maxi , is a great staple pattern with different options for strappy tops. There are 4 different necklines and I have sewed three of them. Have a look at the cute tops I sewed for our eldest. There are different options for the neckline and you can combine these different necklines for the front and the back of the top. The first one I am showing you is a top with a peek-a-boo at the back of the top. Great for using scraps and combining different fabrics. For the front I used the regular scoop neckline. For the second top I used the square neckline for both the front and the back of the top. I slightly hacked the front because I didn't have enough of the flower fabric. Another jacket: the Billie

What is another jacket in your closet? You cannot have enough of those can you? The Billie is the second jacket that I sewed for myself and I love wearing jackets, so these are just perfect for me. The Billie from Petite Stitchery * is a great pattern as you can both use woven fabrics and knit fabrics. I have a big stash of knit fabrics and I do my best to decrease this stash, which is working well so far (no new fabrics during the first two months this year (I just bought a couple new ones yesterday...)). My woven fabric stash is not that big (meaning, not that big as my stretch fabric stash), but I also do not sew often with woven fabrics. So when I get the chance I try to use some of my beautiful woven fabrics. My previous jacket was made of stretch sweat so I used a woven fabric instead this time. Layne Dolman with split sleeves

Another garment for myself, yay! Testing for myself is always the best way to sew for myself, otherwise clothing for our girls goes first. I love the Layne Dolman, remember this sweater ? The Layne Dolman from Petite Stitchery * is a great design with many options! I sewed the top length (both on the front and back) with split sleeves. I love the hem of this top. You can easily combine a top length with a tunic length hem to create a high low top. Of course normally when I have the chance to colour block anything in my sewing I take my chance. This time I couldn't really find any fabric that would fit with this fabric so I just used one fabric for the split sleeves. Flurry Sweater

I love special details on patterns. These cute details make me learn new skills and I love interesting details on clothing. I fell for the drawstring sleeves in the new Girl's Flurry Sweater by Petite Stitchery *. You can go all the way with the pattern. In addition to the drawstring sleeve, it also has the option of a sleeve with a gathered shoulder or just a plain sleeve and bodice. I did a circle peplum, but also a gathered peplum and a split hem at the back with optional bows are included in the pattern. Of course the sleeves take some extra time during sewing, but it is so worth it! I love the effect. For the first sweater that I sewed I used stretch velvet and that gives the sleeves even more drama. The final pattern is made with the striped fabric (a bit more width to the sleeves was added in comparison to the stretch velvet peplum). Mermaid dress: Girls Laurel

The Girls Laurel Knit Tunic and Dress by Petite Stitchery * got an update and I got to sew the newest update. The pattern has lots of options. It includes a round and a v-neck, it has several sleeve lengths and it includes a tunic and dress length. So a versatile pattern that can be used for summer dresses (or tunics) as well as for fall sewing! Our girls loves the dress because of the length. The longer the dress, the more she likes it and this dress is much longer than her normal dresses. She also loves the ruffle at the bottom of the dress. It makes the mermaid dress with the mermaid fabric look like the tail of a mermaid, what more could a girl want! I love the V-neckline of this pattern and the method of the sleeves. I forgot to make a close up picture of the sleeve but it is a fold back kind of sleeve at the bottom. Release of the moonbeam swimsuit

Ever since I sewed my first swimsuit I have overcome my fear for sewing swimwear. Nevertheless, I have not sewed one since then. Then I saw a tester call for the Moonbean Swimsuit by Petite Stitchery *, wow, I loved the cut-out version right away! I was one of the lucky testers to be chosen to test the Moonbeam Swimsuit . I sewed two swimsuits during the test because there were small changes in the pattern. And now I just love sewing swimwear. You get to sew an original swimsuit (I love original one of a kind patterns) and you don't need much fabric. You do need some specific haberdasheries like swimelastic and swimsuit lining. I sewed the elastic with a regular zigzag stitch. I also have my coverlock, but I prefer my regular sewing machine. What I like about this pattern is that it uses the trunk length to adapt the pattern for different lengths and I really like that way of adapting a pattern for length.
