Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Our family in mini pals

A couple of years ago I made two mini pals for our two daugthers, one for our eldest and one for our middle daughter . After that my dad requested another one for himself (the one with the glasses). So I made one for him. And recently our daughters said that our youngest daughter didn't have one. So I made one for her and decided to also make one of my husband and myself. Have a look at our family in mini pals (pattern from Heidi and Finn ). What I like about sewing the mini pals is that they can be personalised and they are perfect scrap busters. You might recognize some fabrics I have used from my previous projects. For the clothing I used woven fabrics. It is recommended to use woven fabrics for the mini pals, nevertheless, I like to use a little more structured fabrics for the hair. Snowshoe cuffs as a present

Sofiona Designs always lives up to bringing new exciting patterns, at least that is what I think. Also this time they deliver, they designed a bracelet that is quick and so much fun to sew and great as a present (think Christmas gifts). The best part about it all is that you can get the Snowshoe Cuff for free if you sign up for the newsletter. You can do that with the black box on the right side on their website ! I just love this Snowshoe cuff because the design is so clever, it is a quick sew and it is perfect as a gift. You actually don't need a sewing machine (unless you using fabric that frays, you might want to consider sewing the edges). You need a rotary cutter, some snaps and scraps. Galaxie 3: travel bags

Jalie has just released Galaxie 3: travel accessoires . This is a package that includes 3 different bags that are perfect for your travels. These include: Jet (a travel pouch/passport holder), Eclips (a purse organizer) and Supernova (a packable tote bag). I sewed the small purse organizer, which I am showing you today.  I think the Galaxie 3 is a great bundle of patterns, very useful for travelling and great as a gift .  The best part is that you do not need any interfacing, so it is just non stretch fabric that you need. There are 3 patterns includes, of which two you can make in a small and large size. I made the small Eclipse, so the small purse organizer. Something I wanted to sew for a long time, but never found the time to do so. A deadline is always the best way for me to actually finish a project quickly. Blitzen booties

If you are looking for great fitting booties that stay put on the feet of your baby, or on your girl's feet or on your feet, or on your husband's feet, the blitzen booties are what you are looking for. Our girl is unable to keep her socks on, during summer and fall it wasn't that such a problem, however now that winter has arrived, bare feet are a bit cold. The tester call for these blitzen booties came just at the right time. And these booties stay on!  These booties are perfect for scraps. DIY Christmas Toys blog tour: Urban Jungle Bunny & Lion (+ giveaway!)

This week I am part of the B est Homemade Christmas Toy Sewing Patters blog tour . This blog tour is hosted by Seams Sew Lo and is sponsored by Phat Quarters fabric and Seamingly Smitten (see the end of the post for the giveaway!). I am excited to be part of this tour and sewed two urban dolls for this blog tour. Our girls love them and have been carrying them around the house all day! I love sewing toys and stuffed animals. I have sewed quite a few  stuffed animals already, but these were mostly before my blog started. Sewing stuffed animals usually takes a bit more time, but the result is always so rewarding.
