Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Fabric : Starburst French Terry from Second Star Fabric Pattern : Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood Sizing : 2 - 14 Options : just 1, the colour blocked sweater Difficulty : 1 out of 5 stars Sewing time : 1,5 hours # Fabric t...

Our family in mini pals

A couple of years ago I made two mini pals for our two daugthers, one for our eldest and one for our middle daughter . After that my dad requested another one for himself (the one with the glasses). So I made one for him. And recently our daughters said that our youngest daughter didn't have one. So I made one for her and decided to also make one of my husband and myself. Have a look at our family in mini pals (pattern from Heidi and Finn ). What I like about sewing the mini pals is that they can be personalised and they are perfect scrap busters. You might recognize some fabrics I have used from my previous projects. For the clothing I used woven fabrics. It is recommended to use woven fabrics for the mini pals, nevertheless, I like to use a little more structured fabrics for the hair. I have used fleece and some hairy type of fabrics from other projects or clothing. All our girls love to play with them and love that they represent our family. They are a great pr...

A festive outfit for the doll

Besides all the awesome patterns for girls, boys, women and men Made by Runi also has patterns for dolls . Our girls love dolls, especially our second daughter and our youngest love to play with dolls. So sewing an outfit for our dolls was already on my list for a long time and now I finally sewed up an outfit for our doll. The crown headband is the doll version of the Crown headband for adults and kids. I think it is great for birthdays but can also be used for keeping the head warm during winter. Of course our doll also needs to participate in the festivities. The crown can be worn on two sides so can match two different outfits. The crown headband is part of the doll outdoor bundle , which include the crown headband, a cape and a beanie all for 43 cm dolls. To make a whole outfit I used the fairytale bundle to make a dress for our doll. The fairytale bundle includes dolls versions of the following three patterns: the  fairytale hoodie , the fairy ...
