Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Linen Breeze shirt

When I saw this breeze shirt from plus2is5 I knew I had to make it for my husband. During our holiday in Hawaii two years ago we bought a shirt like the breeze shirt and he loves it. So after a year he requested another one. I started looking for a pattern but found it difficult to search. So when I saw the breeze shirt pop up in my instagram I bought the Breeze shirt from Twig + Tale right away and sewed it up for Fathersday. My husband loves it, it is nice and breezy. I made it in linen fabric that I bought at Textielstad. What makes the pattern to great is the attention to detail. There is contrasting fabric in the hem and the back of the top of the bodice. Also the difference in length of the front and back bodice gives it such a professional look. The pattern also uses french seams, which was a first for me. So also the inside looks perfect. Striped linen pants: Vanessa

Pants are not my favourite garment to sew and especially not for myself. However, when I went through my closet I came to the conclusion I only had jeans and I was looking for something a little more summery (and not shorts). Since I always find it difficult to find well fitting pants, I thought let's give it a go. Sew my own pants, in linen, to make nice summer pants. I used the Vanessa Fluid pants (3676) from Jalie . The Vanessa pants are designed for woven fabrics. The pants have tapered legs, a faux fly, pockets and an elastic waistband (with waistband inset on the front if you want to add some extra colour). I was actually surprised how quickly the pants came together. Even with making sure the lines would line up on both sides of the pants and aligning the pockets with the legs. I did adapt the top part of the pants slightly. That is what always holds me back from sewing my own pants, I always have to do some adaptations.
