Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. About me

I started sewing when our eldest daughter was born in 2013. A good friend of mine, Miranda from inspinration was already hooked to sewing and convinced me to start as well. Well I did and now I am addicted to sew for our girls, for my man (although I should sew more for him) and for myself.

 I am a mom of three girls who works at a research university. I taught myself to sew. I also like to knit, crochet or be creative in general. I hope that my creations inspire your creations, just as many other blogs inspire me.

 Sew Cucio: cucio means I sew in Italian. I love to sew and we often go to Italy, therefore the italian link to sewing. Since my parents own a house in Italy and my mom sews as well we recently also have a sewing machine and lock machine which I can use during our holidays. We also found a Italian store with fabric, so even in Italy I can sew and I don't need to miss it too long. Lucky me!

One Thimble 17: Big Day Out Jacket

I just love blog tours! It is so nice to see the different perspective of different sewers on the same projects. The One Thimble Magazine* is a great way to bet to know different designers in one magazine. For me this was my first time sewing something from One Thimble. Although I have sewed a pattern that was part of a previous version from One Thimble ( Orbis Sinny Harem Pants  by Sofilantjes in One Thimble 13 ).  In the newest One Thimble, issue 17 I sewed the Big Day Out Jacket by Ainslee Fox Boutique Patterns .  The Big Day Out Jacket is a denim jacket. My version looks like a denim jacket but actually I sewed the jacket from french terry and sweat fabrics with a denim look. With this jacket you can go all out!
