Neverland tee

I don't often sew t-shirts, although they are quick and an easy sew and the result is always unique. Nevertheless, if I sew t-shirts, I love something with colour blocking. The Neverland Tee from Stitch upon a time * ticks that box, it has a great colour blocking detail. With t-shirts it is always the question whether it will be worn a lot or not. When I sew a dress for our eldest she will definitely wear it. With t-shirts it really depends, let's see if she likes it. Luckily she has two sisters who she can pass it on to, so it will be worn in the end. The Neverland tee has three sleeve options and the possibility to hem or use cuffs at the sleeves. There is the colour block version of the tee or with a plain front and/or back. I used the colour blocked pattern pieces for both the front and the back. Colour block hoodie with a twist

With the colder weather I have started sewing sweaters, for our girls and for myself. My husband isn't really into hoodies, but after seeing mine, he was doubting, whether maybe he also wanted one for himself. Let me first show you my sweater. I used the Raglan hoodie with a twist from Made by Runi , which is pattern of the week this week so available with a discount. I used the fitted one for women, there is also a straight cut for men and a children's version . So you can sew one for the whole family . The Raglan hoodie with a twist has the same colour blocking as the hourglass dress that I made recently. I love this colour blocking it looks great! There is also a one piece bodice piece if you don't like the colour blocking. Additionally, there is the option of colour blocked shoulder pieces. The pattern includes a hood and a cowl. Hourglass dress

Looking for a flattering knit dress? The Hourglass dress from Made by Runi is just that. The hourglass shape in the dress accentuates your curves and gives the look of a slim waist. The hourglass dress is quite a quick sew I would say. Although it took me almost 4 hours because I wanted to make sure that it would not end up too tight around my hips. I added a bit more seam allowance (seam allowance isn't included in the patterns from Made by Runi anyways) to the dress pattern pieces, but it took me a couple of hours and many fittings to get it to the way I wanted. I don't like making a muslin and added too much seam allowance. It was totally my fault and not the pattern. Now I am really happy with the fit. It fits perfectly and still fits loose enough around my hips, the way I like it. Lesson learned! Purple isn't a colour I often wear, although I did make a purple top before. Treasures skirts for our girls

Skirts are the next best thing after dresses and sometimes skirts are even better. Especially our middle daughter loves skirts. During my last sewing weekend I sewed up two skirts for our two eldest girls with the Little Treasures Skirt by Duck Butt Designs . If you like colour blocking Duck Butt Designs is a great designer. All her designs include options to go all the way with amazing combinations of fabric. I love Duck Butt Designs because of the colour blocking, so that is also what I did with the skirts for our girls. A big colour blocking pocket to put all those treasures in. I indeed have to make sure to clear out those pockets before washing them or I end up with a lot of different objects in my laundry. There are different options included in the pattern. Colour blocked Vallis dress

I love my Vallis , it is the perfect summer dress. So I decided to also sew one for our eldest. Last summer it was already on my list to sew one for our eldest. But again, it didn't happen until I went on our sewing weekend . Here is the girl's Vallis from Sofilantjes * for our eldest. I love the asymmetrical skirt of the dress. I used the same option for my own dress. Just like with this dress I added some colour blocking because I didn't have enough fabric. There are three hemming options for this dress. A 3/4 circle skirt with a round hem, a 3/4 circle skirt with a handkerchief hem (so four square corners) or a 3/4 circle skirt with an asymmetrical hem (round on one side and with a square corner on the other side). Women's Stonecrop Tank Top

The weather is great so time for tank tops. Tank tops are my favourite type of top to wear during summer. Two weeks ago I showed you the stonecrop tank top kids for our girls . Now also the stonecrop tank top Adult by MW Patterns * is available. Once I sewed up the stonecrop tank top for our girls I knew I wanted one with those flattering side panels as well. Of course I love the pattern because of the colour blocking but also because of the side panels which are great for your figure. There is also a plain version of the tank top available and another colour blocking option, which I made for our middle daughter (you can see it here ). I really like the curved hem on the front. I am less a fan of the binding on the top. I have been sewing binding almost non stop the last weeks. So my binding skills have improved, still it is not my favourite sewing activity. Colour blocked Juliet dress

I love to sew dresses for our girls. When the Juliet dress from Peek-a-Boo Patterns * was released I bought it right away... that was more than a year ago. It was on my sewing list for a long time. Sewing weekends are perfect to sew those patterns that I have been wanting to sew for a long time. During our last sewing weekend I sewed a couple of patterns that were already on my sewing list for a while. The Juliet dress is a dress with a feature on the back. I chose the heart cut out. There are also a star and bunny cut out and there is also the option of a bow in the back. I chose to put the fabric behind the cutout as it is too cold (well not anymore I guess), to wear it with an open back. This option is included in the pattern, just as leaving the cut out open. With these circle skirts you need a lot of fabric and I always underestimate how much fabric you need. It's a wrap dress

A couple of weeks ago our eldest was wearing this dress from her (when her girls outgrow her handmade clothing we receive it 😊). And our eldest loves that dress, especially because of the wrap element (I also think she loves the retro element of the fabric although she doesn't realise that yet). So I thought the It's a wrap dress from Made by Runi would be a perfect match. Our eldest even picked out the fabric for the dress, so there is nothing in the way of this dress becoming a favourite. The dress has the option of adding the ruffle or leaving the ruffle off (there are two length for with or without the ruffle). I opted for adding a ruffle to the skirt only. There is also the possibility of adding a ruffle to the top bodice. The bodice is staying put with a snap in the inside of the dress, which is great, because I have the experience that wrap dresses often tend to shift. A Clover hoodless hoodie with arm pocket

Well get your zippers ready because everybody will want arm pockets after seeing this amazing hoodie. It is the Clover hoodie from Sofiona Designs . It is an amazing sweater with lots of colour block options and that pocket... The Clover hoodie has many different options. It has three different styles for the front and back of the bodice. I made view A (see the pictures af the bottom of this blog post with the cactus fabric) and view B (with the unicorns). There is also a view C with no style lines in the bodice. View A is great for combing different fabrics and if you like colour blocking like I do. View B has fewer sewing lines and after seeing people in our tester group using piping I wanted to try that. Me not using the opportunity to combine different fabrics is something. I used flat piping to accentuate the different style lines in View B.
