Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. One Thimble 22 blog tour: Piper Pinny dress

My daughter loves twirly dresses and then suddenly during summer we saw this denim dress without any twirl factor and she instantly loves it! Complete mind changer. So when I saw the Piper Pinny in the newest One Thimble 22 *, I knew our girl would just love it. I have a large fabric stash, but besides that I also have a large upcyclying stash. Especially with denim, I just can't let go and feel like I need to save every denim jeans that we have owned in our household. So when I have a denim sewing project I try to use my large pile of old jeans.This pair of jeans comes out of my mother's stash as my stash is in storage due to our upcoming move. I love upcycling because you keep all the cool elements of the original garment. The Piper Pinny is a denim dress with a vintage and a knee length. Free Pattern: Upcycled Pompi Pants

I met Gabi from The Minimi Project in 2016 during our first sewing weekend. In the beginning of this year we met again during the second edition of our sewing weekend . The idea behind The Minimi Project is that they develop sewing patterns for repurposing/upcycling clothes. Gabi is such a great lady she already showed us during our sewing weekends how easy it can be to upcycle old clothes into great new ones.  I believe the first promo pompipants were made during our sewing weekend in February. During summer Gabi posted some more pompipants she made on Instagram. I loved them right away, you know, that color blocking thing. When she asked if people wanted to test the pattern I volunteered right away. This also gave me an excuse to sew something for our youngest daughter. She is sometimes left behind a bit as her big sister because a lot of patterns start at 1 year. Recycling two of one kind

Ok I promise, this is the last summer clothing I will show you this year. I wish it was still summer, don't you?  New environments can give you new inspiration. We were in Italy on holiday and it was hot, very hot and there were many mosquitoes in the evening. So a thin pair of trousers would be ideal for our holiday. In the stores here in Italy I saw many trousers made of 100% viscose. This type of fabric would be ideal, nice and flowy and very thin. Of course I could not find any of these type of trousers in kid sizes, only in women sizes. So when I spotted a pair of trousers on sale I bought it and from this pair of trousers I sewed two trousers for both girls. For both girls I traced a pair of trousers that fitted well. I wanted to use as much as possible from the fabric I had so I left the side seam as it was and I also used the elastic waist in the trousers.
