Neverland tee

I don't often sew t-shirts, although they are quick and an easy sew and the result is always unique. Nevertheless, if I sew t-shirts, I love something with colour blocking. The Neverland Tee from Stitch upon a time * ticks that box, it has a great colour blocking detail. With t-shirts it is always the question whether it will be worn a lot or not. When I sew a dress for our eldest she will definitely wear it. With t-shirts it really depends, let's see if she likes it. Luckily she has two sisters who she can pass it on to, so it will be worn in the end. The Neverland tee has three sleeve options and the possibility to hem or use cuffs at the sleeves. There is the colour block version of the tee or with a plain front and/or back. I used the colour blocked pattern pieces for both the front and the back. Shirtzie dress

Stitch upon a time * is introducing the SUAT Spotlight. Each month there will two patterns that are in the spotlight and will be on sale. This month the boxerwear patterns ( Men's , Women's and kids ) and the Shirtzie patterns ( Women's and girl's ) are on sale. So I sewed up a shirtzie dress for our youngest. The shirtzie has 3 sleeve lengths and 3 length options, a crop top, tunic or dress length (with a dress and maxi length). I sewed the 3/4 sleeves, which will be perfect for summer and fall. The shirtzie is available for both girls (NB - 12Y) and women (XXS - 3X). I slightly hacked the pattern by adding a neckband. The top of the dress is fully lined and I decided to leave out the lining and just add a neckband. I did not change anything to the bodice so the neckline with the neckband is a bit higher than if you line the bodice. Another wendybird dress

The third wendybird dress * on this blog, that means I love that dress! I already sewed two dresses for the eldest two (although the eldest has outgrown hers and our middle one is now wearing the one of the eldest). Now it was time for a dress for our youngest. Meet my newest wendybird dress from Stitch upon a time . The pattern has many different options, you can either pleat or gather the panel skirt part (or leave out the extra skirt panel, although I love that element of the dress). Two years ago I used both the pleats and gathering for the dresses. The last time I also made the regular sleeves. Sew all the underwear

I am definitely a fabric hoarder, I do not want to throw away any fabric. Therefore, projects that are great for scraps are right up my alley, enter underwear sewing patterns. Our girls only wear self sewed underwear and do not know any differently. I started sewing because our girls were rather small when they were potty trained so I could not find any store bought underwear that wouldn't slide down their butts. I just love that I can use up my scraps and also other people's beautiful scraps. I get so happy with the colourful underwear which brighten up my day. Muse playsuit re-release

I love playsuits, don't you? They look so cute on babies. But then babies grow up, so with our youngest still a bit baby like I need to sew up all the playsuits because once they get potty trained they are not that useful anymore. First day at school dress - Wendybird dress times two

Something about a donkey that doesn't hurts itself twice on the same stone (Dunglish expression), or in correct English a fox is not caught twice in the same snare. I sewed the Wendybird dress by Stitch Upon a Time* for our eldest for her first day at school. But something went wrong while cutting of the fabric. The first dress I sewed is the frog dress with the blue and yellow stripes. Well actually several things went wrong when cutting the skirt panel. First, I mixed up the width and height of the panel piece. The stripes were supposed to be horizontal instead of vertical, well I do not mind the mix up. Second, the pattern piece for the skirt panel (the stripe fabric in the skirt) is written down in measurements in the pattern instead of having a pattern piece. Of course I forgot, or at least didn't think of it during cutting, that I used a different size for the width of the dress as for the length. So my skirt panel was quite a bit shorter than the ot...

Spoxxy 2.0: maternity top!

Spoxxy 2.0. For those who know the Spoxxy top have been waiting for 2.0 since it has been retired. I loved the Spoxxy top by Stitch upon a time * and it has been on my sewing list for a long time already. I was planning on sewing a maternity top, which I could take with me on the holidays. Then I saw the testers call for the Spoxxy top and dress 2.0 , which was the perfect push to indeed finish it before we went on holiday. During testing I made two tops. The first one I show is the final version of the top (although there were only minor changes in the pattern). IT has a relaxed fit and a quick sew, I sewed each top within the hour. What I also like about the pattern is the waist band. You don't need to worry that the top moves up and shows your belly. This is sometimes a problem with maternity tops, they may move up when you are moving and you don't notice it because there is usually a band underneath (which is then showing).
