You might actually think that we only have one girl in our household, but we have another one jumping around. And she is starting to look more and more like her older sister when it comes to clothing. She is already picking out her own clothing and has a clear preference for dresses. It all started with the new dress for her: the  Amelia dress *  by  Bella Sunshine Designs . Since our youngest is a petite little girl she usually doesn't fit in the patterns that start at 1 year or 2 years, which means that most of the time I sew for our eldest girl. This time it was time for a dress for our youngest girl. That is the great advantage of BSD patterns, they start at 6M and our girl actually fits the sizing chart! Dresses by Bella Sunshine Designs * are always a hit with our girls. I have sewed the Sahara Dress for our eldest girl and soon I will show you another BSD dress for our youngest girl. Today I am showing you the Emmaline maxi, dress and top by BSD. Every single day our eldest asks whether she can wear a long dress today. When she goes to school usually the answer is not to school. When she is done with school she asks again if she can put on a long dress (she has 4 long dresses at the moment), the answer usually is yes. So basically our girl wears long dresses as much as possible. You can imagine that this dress is a huge hit with her. Especially since the previous long dresses I sewed her are not until the ground anymore. The Emmaline maxi, dress and top has several options. You can sew it sleeveless, with short sleeves or with long sleeves. The other options are a top option, a dress option and a maxi dress option. I have sewed Louise Sweaters before and a couple of other patterns are in my pattern stash and now it is time to meet the newest addition, the Doris skirt ! Today I am part of the social tour for the Doris skirt and I am showing you the two doris skirts that I sewed during testing. The first version I sewed is the cactus skirt. The doris skirt has geometrical lines which is perfect for colour blocking and using piping. For the first version I used one type of fabric for the main pattern pieces and added piping in between to accentuate the lines of the skirt. There are two different versions you can sew. For the cactus skirt I sewed the version with one piece for the back of the skirt.
