Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Cross my heart cardigan

My first project during our sewing weekend was the cross my heart cardigan by Max and Meena patterns. During my pattern tests I usually sew for our two older girls. So it was time to sew something for our smallest girl.
I saw this pattern already long before but bought it when we were expecting our youngest. I think it looks so cute! And after sewing I can say it is a great pattern too. I like the little straps that are used for the snaps. They are just brilliant because they do not stretch and therefore the snaps do not have the possibility of tearing the fabric. I didn't think to take any ribbon with me during the sewing weekend. But luckily there was somebody who did! And she just had the perfect match to the fabric, I love that little detail.
Fabric: the mountain fabric is Indian Summer - Woodland Oak from Art Gallery Fabric that I bought at joyfits, the mint fabric comes from my store in Italy. The fabric is a leftover from this sweater.

One Thimble 22 blog tour: Piper Pinny dress

My daughter loves twirly dresses and then suddenly during summer we saw this denim dress without any twirl factor and she instantly loves it! Complete mind changer. So when I saw the Piper Pinny in the newest One Thimble 22 *, I knew our girl would just love it. I have a large fabric stash, but besides that I also have a large upcyclying stash. Especially with denim, I just can't let go and feel like I need to save every denim jeans that we have owned in our household. So when I have a denim sewing project I try to use my large pile of old jeans.This pair of jeans comes out of my mother's stash as my stash is in storage due to our upcoming move.
