There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley. Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Another video tutorial. Again with colour blocking. Do you see a pattern in my tutorials? I just love colour blocking! So I made another video tutorial for the video party! This time on how to colour block the Coffee and Tea Cardigan by Annelaine Patterns.
The Coffee and Tea Cardigan comes is sizes 9M until 18 and also comes in women's sizing. Both types of cardigan have two different lengths, classic or duster length, fitted or relaxed sleeves, short or long sleeves, the option of adding cuffs or not and the option of adding pockets to the cardigan.
Fabric: the red sweater knit is a leftover of this sweater I made. I bought the fabric at Caresstoffen. The blue sweater knit comes from my fabric store in Italy. The panda fabric is a scrap piece I found in the exchange pile on our sewing weekend.

The Coffee and Tea Cardigan has two different types of cardigans in the pattern and is therefore perfect for adding a colour block. Do you want to know how to color block the coffee and tea cardigan? Have a look at the video tutorial I made:
I used the duster length of the Coffee Cardigan for our 2 year old. I also added a colour block to the sleeves as I did not have enough of the panda fabric to complete the long sleeves. The cardigan is quite a quick sew and fits perfectly. I love this style of longer cardigans, just like the cardigan I made recently for our eldest.
