Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Twinning in dandelion tops

We feel summer is around the corner with all that sunshine. So I thought let's start with summer clothing. Actually, I sewed these wonderful Dandelion Tank Peplum by Sofiona Designs already last summer but I didn't get around to post them on my blog (and showing them during winter seemed a bit odd, so here they are).
The best part about these tops is the back and the binding that you can choose to sew to the inside or to the outside. I opted for both tops to flip them to the outside so you can see the pop of colour.
For the top for our eldest I used a panel and for the peplum part I only wanted the triangular pieces so I had to adapt the 3/4 circle skirt. So the skirt is not that twirly.
The pattern also includes a regular tank without the peplum skirt. Also two different lengths of the peplum skirt are included.
Aren't they cute toghether and small in comparison to now?!
Fabric: the top of our eldest is a panel piece of fabric which I can't remember where I got it from, the green top is Frog Prince Hearts from Lillestoff by Bora.
Pattern: Dandelion Tank Peplum by Sofiona Designs
Size: 2-14Y
Options: simple tank top or a 3/4 circle peplum tank with 2 different lengths (peplum).
Difficulty: Beginner

One Thimble 17: Big Day Out Jacket

I just love blog tours! It is so nice to see the different perspective of different sewers on the same projects. The One Thimble Magazine* is a great way to bet to know different designers in one magazine. For me this was my first time sewing something from One Thimble. Although I have sewed a pattern that was part of a previous version from One Thimble ( Orbis Sinny Harem Pants  by Sofilantjes in One Thimble 13 ).  In the newest One Thimble, issue 17 I sewed the Big Day Out Jacket by Ainslee Fox Boutique Patterns .  The Big Day Out Jacket is a denim jacket. My version looks like a denim jacket but actually I sewed the jacket from french terry and sweat fabrics with a denim look. With this jacket you can go all out!
