Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. Another Cozy garment: the Cozy dress

Sometimes you have these patterns, every time you see them you feel the love and feel like you should sew that pattern. That is how I felt with the Cozy Dress by Made by Runi. Every single version I saw I just loved. If you feel the same, now is your chance to get the Cozy Dress with a discount because it is pattern of the week!
The best part about this dress is that it is a quick sew with a great result! It has dolman sleeves, so you basically have 4 pattern pieces for the whole dress! I love the shorter front and longer back, such a cute detail. And the cowl, I love cowls on dresses, unfortunately our girls are not always a fan of cowls. Luckily our middle daughter just loves everything I sew for her and isn't too picky about the pattern so I sewed it for her. Our eldest would miss the twirl factor of the skirt.
I added about 2 centimeters in width to the cowl because our girl doesn't like fabric to be too close to her neck. I also added 1,5 cm to the length of the skirt so she can wear the dress longer (hopefully). I also added a piece of fabric between the upper and lower part of the dress, which gives a nice pop of colour!

Sizing:80 -164 (12M - 14Y). Also available in women's sizing (34-58)

One Thimble 17: Big Day Out Jacket

I just love blog tours! It is so nice to see the different perspective of different sewers on the same projects. The One Thimble Magazine* is a great way to bet to know different designers in one magazine. For me this was my first time sewing something from One Thimble. Although I have sewed a pattern that was part of a previous version from One Thimble ( Orbis Sinny Harem Pants  by Sofilantjes in One Thimble 13 ).  In the newest One Thimble, issue 17 I sewed the Big Day Out Jacket by Ainslee Fox Boutique Patterns .  The Big Day Out Jacket is a denim jacket. My version looks like a denim jacket but actually I sewed the jacket from french terry and sweat fabrics with a denim look. With this jacket you can go all out!
