Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. A spring inspired misusu outfit: Doris & Piper

Joining an inspirational tour is always exciting (+ Giveaway!). This time I am joining the spring inspiration tour of Misusu where in total 35 bloggers are showing you inspiration with the Piper Tank Top combined with the Doris skirt or the Alex Joggers (which are now available in a bundle). I was part of the testing team when the Doris skirt was released 2 years ago. I sewed two skirts during testing. Actually our middle girl, for which I sewed this set, actually fits these skirt at the moment. So she has three Doris skirts in her closet. I love the design of the Doris skirt with the back fabric peeping in the front. I added flat piping to accentuate the line of the pockets and the tapered shape of the skirt. And that waistband, I love the originality of the skirt!
The Piper Tank Top was a new pattern for me. Wow that pattern is packed with lots of options which makes it suitable for both boys and girls. It has four different back options: a "straight" back in just one fabric, then you can add a yoke and crossover petals. The fourth option is a penguin tale back. You can choose between "straight" armholes and racerback armholes. There are also 3 different pockets you can choose from. I chose the crossover petal back option with "straight" armholes and I left the pocket off.
The printed fabrics come from her which I received during our last sewing weekend. The uni colours were all in my stash and perfectly matched the fabric.

Brianna Dress - DG Patterns Blog Tour

I have a soft spot for asymmetrical patterns. So when I saw the Brianna Dress by  DG Patterns * I instantly loved it.  Today I am part of the DG patterns blog tour. One Thimble 17: Big Day Out Jacket

I just love blog tours! It is so nice to see the different perspective of different sewers on the same projects. The One Thimble Magazine* is a great way to bet to know different designers in one magazine. For me this was my first time sewing something from One Thimble. Although I have sewed a pattern that was part of a previous version from One Thimble ( Orbis Sinny Harem Pants  by Sofilantjes in One Thimble 13 ).  In the newest One Thimble, issue 17 I sewed the Big Day Out Jacket by Ainslee Fox Boutique Patterns .  The Big Day Out Jacket is a denim jacket. My version looks like a denim jacket but actually I sewed the jacket from french terry and sweat fabrics with a denim look. With this jacket you can go all out! You can add embellishments, use different types of fabrics or different colours. It really is a garment you can go all out! I love the jacket!
