Asymmetrical Ellis sweater from Fibre Mood

There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley.   Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. It's here: Solis dress for women by Sofilantjes

Who doesn't want that amazing dress that you have been sewing for your girls for yourself, I mean who wants the Solis tunic/dress for women* from Sofilantjes? Everybody right?! I was so excited when I saw the first Solis dress for women on Instagram.
I was afraid that I could not join testing of the Solis dress because of my pregnancy. I really badly wanted to join in. But the Solis for women, besides the circle skirt and pleated skirt also has an empire waist option. The empire waist starts just under the bust and has gathering in the middle of the skirt. So perfect for growing bellies like mine. Isn't that just perfect? It is just a great summer dress and I can wear it all the way till the end of my pregnancy. I am 30 weeks pregnant in the photos, so still about 10 weeks to go.
Sale will run from Thursday 23.55 CET till Sunday 23.55 CET. The sale price is €5.60 exl tax (€6,77 incl. eu tax). After that the regular price of €12.10. So go get it while it is on sale!
Since I had some fabric left and the previous Solis that I sewed for our girl is too short by now I wanted to sew another Solis for our eldest. And it is a rather quick project after you have sewn one for yourself. Unfortunately, I did not have enough fabric to sew a circle skirt for our girl so I again sewed a pleated skirt. She loves it! Even without the circle skirt (pfew).
If you also would like to make a mommy and me outfit and you don't own the girl's Solis Tunic and dress yet, you can buy it here (Nederlandse patroon).
It was my first time creating a mommy and me look with our girl and we both love it! It is just a great comfortable dress with an unique back. You just have to think about the bra that you are going to wear underneath it.
Fabric: The flower jersey of the dress comes from Karteris. The pink jersey was a coupon at Cares' Stoffen. The orange jersey comes from Stoffenstraat.

Basically Jalie Blog Tour: Bella Fit and Flare dress

This week it is time for the Basically Jalie Blog tour and a giveaway! For this blog tour it is all about basics. Although a dress might not be a stereotype basic, it is for our eldest. She wears a dress every single day, or at least as often as possible. So I chose the Bella Fit and Flare dress (3460) from Jalie . Read until the end for more details about the giveaway! I love the silhouette of this dress and so does our girl. When she spins around it twirls perfectly. And did you see that lovely back? I finished the back differently. In the pattern they add elastic to finish off the neck. I was lazy and just added a neck binding that I serged to the dress. To accentuate the princess seams I added piping to the front seams. I used the same fabric that I used for the neck binding. Because we are still in winter season I also made a tank top to wear underneath the dress. I used the Raglan Tee, Racerback Tank and Tunics (3245)  from Jalie in the same fabric as the ...

One Thimble 22 blog tour: Piper Pinny dress

My daughter loves twirly dresses and then suddenly during summer we saw this denim dress without any twirl factor and she instantly loves it! Complete mind changer. So when I saw the Piper Pinny in the newest One Thimble 22 *, I knew our girl would just love it. I have a large fabric stash, but besides that I also have a large upcyclying stash. Especially with denim, I just can't let go and feel like I need to save every denim jeans that we have owned in our household. So when I have a denim sewing project I try to use my large pile of old jeans. This pair of jeans comes out of my mother's stash as my stash is in storage due to our upcoming move. I love upcycling because you keep all the cool elements of the original garment. The Piper Pinny is a denim dress with a vintage and a knee length. You can also add a front faux placket, tie straps or buttons and you can use the pattern pieces with or without a centre seam for the front and back. I seam ripped the old jeans th...
