There is a new Fibre Mood * released and I got to sew a great sweater from it, the Ellis sweater . The Ellis sweater is very quick sew but stands out because of the split neckband and waistband, such a fun detail! And of course the diagonal colour block is right up my alley. Our girl picked out the fabric herself, at least the fireworks fabric. I picked out the matching fabric. The print works well with the large piece. The sweater is a bit roomy, that is because there is a size 6 and a size 8 and she doesn't fit in the size 6, but the size 8 is still a bit big on her. Well she can grow into it. At textielstad I bought a couple of multicolour threads . I felt this was the perfect project to try it out and indeed it matches the colours in the sweater very well. A new pattern by Sofilantjes, they are always must haves! The Eximia sweater* (Nederlands patroon) by Sofilantjes is again a hit! I love it and I have sewed already four of them! Today I am showing you the one with middle length for our eldest.
The Eximia sweater has three lengths and two sleeve lengths. The three lengths include a short, middle and long length. I made the middle length for our eldest with long sleeves. I love the shape on the front and that it has pockets. My husband already asked whether it was a vest or a sweater. That's the fun part, it looks like a vest but it is a sweater.
The Eximia sweater is great for thicker types of fabric, so perfect for winter. I used a sweat fabric with only 30% stretch. The shorter type of sweater looks more like a bolero and is therefore perfect on a dress that is maybe a bit too cold for winter, so you can make colder dresses suitable for winter! The longer sweater looks different again and is almost like a dress. You can wear it with jeans or as a dress. I love the versatility of the pattern. And the best part is, there is also a women's version of the pattern! I will show you more of that at the end of this week!
There is a celebration week for the release of the eximia sweater with 25% discount, so this week is the week to buy the sweater! Either for your girl or yourself, or the bundle!
